Natural Makhir Ginger Fizz

A Homemade Ginger Ale Alternative

Looking to cut down on sugary sodas but still crave something fizzy and flavorful? This Natural Makhir Ginger Fizz is a homemade twist on classic ginger ale, made with our bold and zesty Natural Makhir Ginger from Meghalaya. Refreshing, gingery, and with far less sugar than a store-bought soda.

Ingredients

  • 1–2 tablespoons Natural Makhir Ginger (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 2 teaspoons sugar or honey (adjust to taste)
  • ½ cup carbonated water
  • Slice of lime (for garnish)
  • Ice (optional)

Directions

  • Bring 1 cup of water to a boil, then add Natural Makhir Ginger.
  • Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 5 minutes to concentrate the flavor.
  • Allow the ginger infusion to cool for about 10 minutes.
  • Strain into a glass, then stir in sugar or honey until dissolved.
  • Gently top with carbonated water, add ice if desired, and garnish with a lime slice.

Tip: For a quicker version, top the infusion with store-bought ginger ale instead of sugar and sparkling water.

This refreshing drink is perfect as an after-dinner sipper or a smarter party mixer. Explore more ideas in our recipe collection, featuring Golden Lakadong Turmeric, Warm Wild Long Pepper, and other spices from Meghalaya.
