1. A Golden Morning Smoothie

Blend fresh fruit (pineapple, apple, or banana) with 1/2 tsp Golden Lakadong Turmeric, a splash of water, coconut milk, or dairy milk, a spoonful of flax seeds, chia seeds, or nuts, and a little honey. Pineapple works well if citrus is easy on your stomach; bananas or apples are a milder choice.

2. Golden Turmeric Tea

Turmeric tea is a long-time morning ritual in many kitchens. Add 1/4 tsp Golden Lakadong Turmeric and 1 tsp honey to a cup, pour in 1 cup hot black or green tea, squeeze in a slice of lemon, and stir well.

3. Black Sesame Rice (Ja Nei Iong)

Add a Khasi touch to lunch. Cook rice with black sesame seeds, stir in 1/2 tsp Golden Lakadong Turmeric, and season lightly with salt and oil.

Why Cook With Golden Lakadong Turmeric?

Golden Lakadong Turmeric is one of our six single-origin ingredients from Meghalaya, and most of our spices come direct from the farmer. Its curcumin level is commonly cited at 7–9%, compared with 2–3% in everyday turmeric, and it has a deeper color and stronger flavor, which is why a little goes a long way.
